Learning Materials And Quizzes

The following material provides explanatory notes on some specific topics. Included are instructions on getting SPSS or Excel to do the calculations for you. The notes are linked to on-line quizzes which test the depth of your understanding. They are best viewed in screen configuration 1024×768 pixels. The quizzes are based on prototypes developed by Franz Embacher and Petra Oberhuemer of the University of Vienna, on their excellent Maths Online site.

The quizzes presented here work well with most browsers. Netscape 6+, Mozilla and Firefox users may experience difficulties in dragging some of the movable fields with any speed. If you get the "dragging forbidden" symbol mid drag, take your finger off the mouse button and don't reapply it till you get to your destination. If in doubt about your browser's suitability, go to the Maths Online site for advice and possible fixes.

Please contact if you experience difficulties with links or things not working as they should. Any other comments would also be welcome.
