Honours in Chemistry (BSc(Hons))

Course Code: H1033

The Honours year is used to extend a student's grasp of the principles and practice of chemistry by undertaking a rigorous, research-based project. Mentoring by a member of staff enables Honours students to develop the ability for creative, independent research. Students are expected to be involved in the entire research process from concept through to writing and presenting the data obtained, along the way developing skills in advanced chemical technique, project management, high-level problem solving, and communication of research findings to peers.

Successful completion of the Honours course is required for admission to research degrees (i.e. Masters or PhD degrees).

Duration:1 year full-time or part-time equivalent
