Identifying Outliers in Regression

There are many research papers on outliers in regression. The project leader has published a reasonably long paper on this subject in Discussiones Mathematicae: Probability and Statistics in the year 2000. The proposed current project is to use this approach but tweak the objective function and to cross-validate the usefulness of the resulting adaptive regression procedure on known data sets, to gain an improvement over the published procedure. The project would include use of the MATLAB computing package and some simulations combined with a current literature review of the latest methods in the area.
